What exactly is Ford Credit& how long does it take for them to get back with decision?

I went to the Ford Dealer to purchase a decent used vehicle to get me back and forth to work and what not and came up with a nice vehicle costing $6200 minus my trade in vehicle.So I test drove the vehicle and liked it. he took all my information and what not and gave me his business card so my co-signer(cousin) can call him(sales person) to give him(sales person), his(my cousin) information since he is co-signing for me because I have no credit. He said the application will go to Ford Credit. What exactly is Ford Credit, will they be the one I am going to maybe get the loan from or do they find a lender? I went to go see the sales person on Tuesday. my cousin said he would contact him on Wednesday since he got off late from work. I haven't heard anything back from the sales person yet. Does that mean I wasnt approved or something?
