What legal term is used to describe the act of intentionally mis-quoting legal doents?

My home owners ociation is constantly lieing to me about what rules are in our covenants and standards doents. Like what you can and can't do with your house and property. I discover they are lying after thoroughly reading these big doents multiple times. I want to tell them to stop it, or else. Or else what? I will sue them for ?? whats the term for this?
