Virus won't go away after it's been deleted. Help?

I have McAfee Anti-virus and for about 3 months or 5 months the same message pops up saying a virus has been detected AND deleted. Then day after day the message keeps reappearing over and over again, like 3-4 times a day. I tried to look for answer but none found. When I play pc games it pops up and freezes my game. I need help. If you help me, I'll appreciate it.
